Broadly speaking, private international law is that body of law which applies to the movement of people and goods across national boundaries.
Public international law is that body of law which applies to conduct between governments. 
In our everyday lives, all people wherever found on earth are impacted by the public and private international body of laws.
The private and public international body of laws may be in written form or may be in place by custom and practice. Since World War II, the United Nations, replacing the earlier League of Nations, has been and remains the primary impetus and depository of many of these laws.

About MOORE International Law

Background

Scott Michael Moore, Attorney & Counselor at Law, and Founder of Moore International Law, was born July 3, 1958, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and has practiced international law for over 30 years. 

He earned a J.D. from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, in 1989, and was called to the Bar in 1990, after earning an M.A. in Economics in 1985 and a dual major B.S. in Economics and English Literature in 1983, both from Eastern Michigan University. 

Mr. Moore concentrated in International Law while in Law School and International Economics in College and Graduate School. Mr. Moore is licensed and admitted in the State Courts of New York and Michigan, is admitted in and has litigated in many State and Federal trial and appellate courts, has arbitrated in London, England, and has practiced before the United Nations Human Rights Commission in Geneva, Switzerland. 

Mr. Moore is also a Private Pilot, a volunteer member of Pilots N Paws (a pet rescue charity), the Civil Air Patrol (2d Lt.), and is a member of the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association.

Attorney Moore has arbitrated before the London Court of International Arbitration in London, England. 

NATIVE AMERICAN COURTS

Attorney Moore is also admitted to the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Tribal Court and the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Court.

Attorney Moore participates in continuing legal education webinars and seminars, including speaking before the Center for International Legal Studies in Salzburg, Austria. Attorney Moore has also lectured on international law and economic issues in American university settings. In 2013, Attorney Moore served as a Judge at the 18th annual Yale Mock Trial Invitational Tournament at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, where 42 college teams competed from across the United States. In February 2014, Attorney Moore judged at Yale's regional Mock Trial tournament where over 29 teams from around the region competed.

Over the years, Attorney Moore has been interviewed by international publications, including International Business, World Trade, the National Law Journal, and has appeared on the Op-Ed page of The Wall Street Journal. 2023 marks the 30th Anniversary of the inclusion of Attorney Moore in Marquis Who's Who publications.
